Here’s your overview of SuperCamp’s exciting and action-packed seven day Junior Forum for students entering grades 6-8 in the fall.
Day 1
Welcome. You arrive, check in, meet your roommate and get settled. Team Leaders facilitate large group games and the energy is high. The afternoon session officially begins your journey of learning and discovery. There are introductions of the staff, team-building games, learning activities, a tour of the campus, and dinner with your new team. The evening continues with a focus on the 8 Keys of Excellence and the day ends with reflection and a journal-writing opportunity.
Day 2
This morning you explore the Key about making the most of every moment - This Is It! New traditions are established and you get a taste of how we teach and learn in our mini academic sessions – Math Mastery, Memory Upgrade and Focus Up! In the evening, team members learn about communication with the Key of Speak With Good Purpose. Meanwhile, you’re finding out more about each other, building trust, and understanding people's differences and similarities.
Day 3
Today opens with SuperCamp traditions and focuses on teamwork, relationships with others, and knowing yourself better. Responsibility is the focus of the Key of the day, Ownership. These topics support the introduction of the Main academic rotations: Quantum Study Strategies, Quantum Reading, and Quantum Writing. In the evening session, you continue to build the level of trust with your team and welcome the outdoor adventure staff who help you explore safety and expectations.
Day 4
In the morning you discover the Key of Commitment as you get pumped up for Outdoor Adventure Day. You'll challenge yourself in a safe physical environment, where your teammates and friends hold your safety lines and cheer you on to success while you navigate high wires that are exhilarating and fun. In the evening, you'll talk about what you learned in the outdoor adventure and participate in Poetry Night - you'll be inspired and touched by what you feel, write, and hear.
Day 5
Morning traditions continue, including the Key of Flexibility. It’s a perfect lead-in to a day of academic rotations including Quantum Study Strategies, Quantum Reading, and Quantum Writing. In the evening, you work with your team while exploring the Key of Failure Leads to Success. Lastly, you’ll get to take a look at rejection and peer pressure and how to handle some of the more difficult parts of Junior High.
Day 6
The Key of the day is Integrity. You complete the last full day of academic rotations, giving you many tools to apply to all your school subjects. You’ll review and rehearse your new skills in a crazy fun way so you can take them out and use them at school and home. The day concludes with individual strength acknowledgments as you receive and give accolades to your teammates and celebrate camp by rocking out in Movement Workshop.
Day 7
Graduation Day is here! For the past seven days, you have been on an incredible learning journey. Now is the time to celebrate your learning and discover the Key of Balance. It is also a day of parting from teammates and other people with whom you've connected, and rejoining family and friends with new thoughts and feelings, skills, and experiences to share.
