Homeschool CampMany homeschooling parents choose SuperCamp as their homeschool enrichment source for summer. Our 10-day summer programs for kids ages 11-18 serve as an ideal homeschool camp. In fact, SuperCamp, now in its twenty-eighth year, has been a favorite of homeschooling parents for years. All of our programs are co-ed. We run a Junior Forum program for boys and girls 11-13 years old. Senior Forum is for kids ages 14-18. Senior Forum graduates can return and progress to the Leadership Training Team and then onto our Leadership Forum program. Another great homeschool enrichment camp we offer is Quantum U, which provides college-level learning and life skills for kids going into and already in college. |
Rebecca Kochenderfer, the editor of Homeschool.com, has this to say about SuperCamp: SuperCamp is unique in that it deals with the whole person, devoting equal time to learning skills and life skills. So, in addition to the wonderful learning strategies and techniques the campers acquire, they also advance their communication, team-building, leadership and interactive skills. |

Rebecca's son's SuperCamp experience is a very common one among homeschooled and non-homeschooled kids ¨C initial trepidation, near-immediate acceptance upon arrival, and a feeling of "I can't wait to come back" when the 10 days are over. Parents with homeschooled children tell us that SuperCamp is an ideal summer camp for homeschoolers. For those kids who are high school age, they say that the college prep approach to our Senior Forum program is particularly helpful. At SuperCamp, we make a point to carefully orchestrate many "mini-success moments" for each camper during our 10-day residential programs. The purpose of this exercise is to help build the confidence, self-esteem and motivation of each person at camp. And it works! A doctoral study conducted with over 6,000 SuperCamp graduates showed that over 80 percent of graduates reported an increase in confidence and self-esteem. The last thing most kids want to do in summer is spend 10 days at an "academic camp." That's understandable. But, the great majority of graduates tell us they return home feeling they can accomplish anything they put their minds to. When parents hear that, they know that SuperCamp is time and money well spent. |
